This course introduces students to the challenge of big data and how to explore valuable information to get insight to solve their challenges. Students will be introduced to Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark and other key platforms and technologies. In addition, the course will introduce multiple data storage techniques, such as HDFS, HBASE, graph databases and document databases. The course will then offer several techniques for addressing analytics problems on various big data platforms. This course will discuss platforms that are hosted both on-premises of organizations and in the cloud.
